Prefix Car Registration Numbers are DVLA number plates with the year letter at the beginning of the number plates and examples may be as follows: C10 SUE or J7 BOB or X7 ANN. Registration numbers within this category always have three letters and may be proceeded by the numbers 1 to 999 plus the prefix indicators excluding I, O, Q, U and Z. Irish Car Registration Numbers such as GAZ 27 or JIL 6 are issued with two or three letters first containing at least one I or Z, followed by between one and four numbers.
