This is how your new plate will appear. Dont forget, that all the paperwork involved with the DVLA in respect of changing your V5 registration Document, your M.o.T. and your tax disc can be taken care of for you. Most registration transfers are completed within 3-4 working days here in Swansea at the local DVLA Vehicle Registration Office. If you are buying this number plate as a gift we will send you the official DVLA retention certificate within 3-4 days so that you can give it to the person you are buying for. Please note: Registration numbers cannot be used to make a vehicle appear newer. For example if you are purchasing an 'R' prefix registration, you cannot put it on a "P" registered vehicle. It can only be applied to a vehicle manufactured on or after the 1st of August, 1997.i.e. "R" registration. Similarly new-style registrations cannot be used to make your vehicle appear newer. This means an "03" plate cannot be transferred onto a "51" plated car. Please call if you are unsure.
